Some Common Mistakes, Every Law Student Should Avoid while Preparing for CLAT

No matter whether you are preparing for CLAT by completely self-study, or with the help of CLAT Online Coaching, preparing for CLAT is not easy. No matter how strong you plan or strategy for your CLAT preparation, most of the students often make some common mistakes and face the consequences later during their preparation.

Let us look at some of the most common mistakes that CLAT candidates make while preparing for their CLAT exam.

Not starting early – delay

One of the major reasons why most students fail to complete their courses is that they do not start early. Even if they start, they are not serious about their preparation until it is too late. You can start CLAT preparation at the time of 11th class or 12th class, and at that time also you can join the best CLAT coaching centres for CLAT. It will help you to get good marks in the CLAT exam and help you to become a topper in this exam. This could prove disastrous in law schools. Law preparation involves in-depth study on various matters along with many written works along with lengthy discussions on various laws and amendments. Procrastination can create a pile of stuff on your desk and it’ll be hard for you to hide so much in a short amount of time.

Low accuracy — facing the wrath of negative marking

Most of the CLAT aspirants do not pay attention to their accuracy while preparing for CLAT. Low accuracy means that even if you attempt enough questions in your paper, too many wrong answers will give you negative marks and affect your total marks.

Not limiting your sources

When you don’t limit the sources from which you are studying, you end up repeating the same topic over and over and a lot of it is not even useful to you. Hence, it is important that you choose the best resources within your reach and prepare a layout of your syllabus and decide what you are going to study and from where keeping in mind your syllabus and paper pattern.

No Limiting Your Time – No Commitment

Another mistake that most law students make is that they do not give themselves a deadline to complete a certain part of their course or the current subject they are studying. It doesn’t matter when we look at it as a singular subject, however, when we look at the entire syllabus in perspective, you will find that you wasted a lot of time on topics that could have been finished in less time. Therefore, it is important to give yourself a deadline.

Not enough modification

Revisions improve your retention and last-minute recall of minute details. Not doing enough revision means that you have forgotten a major part of your syllabus which you studied in the initial days of your CLAT preparation. It is important to make compact notes that allow you to revise your syllabus in less time, allowing you to revise as many times as you want.

Not working hard enough — looking for shortcuts

A lot of college students look for shortcuts and hacks to shorten their syllabus and put together the syllabus in less time. You have to usually remember that there may be no shortcut to achievement. And there are no shortcuts to crack the CLAT exam. Unless you work difficult and examine well with information of primary concepts, you can’t crack CLAT.

Not exercising enough

Practising may not make a person perfect, but at least it makes us less imperfect. If you have not practised enough CLAT test series during your preparation, then attempting the CLAT exam can be very difficult for you, as you have to attempt it several times to get used to the paper pattern and type of questions asked in CLAT. Will need to practice.

Not preparing for current affairs on a daily basis

Most importantly, many students unknowingly miss that they do not study regularly and stay updated with current affairs. Studying everything at the last minute can make you miss something important, or there’s a higher chance that you won’t remember much of it. Therefore, it is very important for every law aspirant to make a habit of studying current affairs.

Best of Luck for CLAT 2022
