Temporary Visa Holders With Professional Skills Could Be Fast-Tracked Back to Australia

Medical professionals, Nurses, Doctors, and IT engineers on temporary visas blocked from returning to Australia due to international travel restrictions will have their exemptions fast-tracked under a new Australian government scheme.

The federal government has announced a priority skill list to lure back temporary visa holders who have been stranded overseas by the coronavirus pandemic. 

Doctors, nurses, real estate construction managers and Information & Technology, software engineers are among those who might be prioritised for travel exceptions to fill skill shortages under the new government’s scheme.

Anyone who granted an exemption will have to under 14 days of quarantine at their own expense.

Hundreds of temporary visa holders have been stopped from returning back to Australia just because of tough international border travel restrictions imposed to limit spread of COVID-19.
