Umaid Bhavan Palace

It is one of the largest private residences in the world. It was built by Umaid Singh; In the year 1943 one of the rulers of Jodhpur and Henry von Lanchester, who planned the layout for this palace. It was believed that the city of Jodhpur was cursed by a saint, who said that the city would face a period of drought. This curse turned out to be true and many farmers became unemployed. To help these farmers and give them employment opportunities, Maharaja Umaid Singh decided to build a palace; Hence, the Umaid Bhawan was constructed.

It is made of Makrana marble and golden-yellow sandstone. Presently, it is owned by Maharaja Gaj Singh II; the Grandson of Maharaja Umaid Singh.

It is an ancient monument in Jodhpur which was built by Maharaja Sardar Singh of Jodhpur in the year 1899 in the loving memory of his father Maharaja Jaswant Singh. It is considered to be the cremation ground of all the royal families.

Jaswant Thada is made of pristine pure white marble and is surrounded by three other monuments, a garden and a small lake. It is one of the most famous tourist places of Jodhpur.

Mehrangarh Fort

In other words, this fort is synonymous with the Blue City, Jodhpur. It was built by Rao Jodha in the year 1459; Founder of Jodhpur It is one of the royal forts of India which is situated 410 feet above the city. The fort has seven gates (pols), each depicting the victorious story of a warrior who fought to defend the Mehrangarh Fort. Chamunda Devi also resides in it; A Hindu goddess temple believed to be the presiding deity of Rao Jodha’s family. The fort accepts battlefield raids from cannon and cannonballs used during the war. The entire blue city is visible from the fort’s ramparts (the houses of the old city are painted blue, hence Jodhpur is called the Blue City of India). It also appreciates the royal culture which is seen in the museum accommodated by Phool Mahal, Sheesh Mahal, Daulat Khana, Moti Mahal and Sileh Khana.

Rohetgarh Fort

It is located on the outskirts of Jodhpur. The property was owned by Thakur Dalpat Singh I, under the Rathore banner as a reward for unparalleled bravery in several combat missions. Presently, it is one of the ancient forts of Jodhpur which has now been converted into a heritage hotel. It redefines hospitality by its Rajasthani culture and offers some pioneering activities like “Village Safari”.

Fort Chanwa Luni

It is one of the ancient masterpieces built in the eighteenth century. Fort Chanwa is located in the nearby district of Jodhpur, Luni. It is made of red marble with a heritage look with jharokhas. It is composed of courtyards, towers, a water wheel, passages and unexpected staircases with secret pavilions and panoramic terraces spread over the village. It is one of the famous tourist attractions of Jodhpur.

This is a 400-year-old fort in Jodhpur. It is made of red sandstone which is a symbol of ancient Rajput culture. It offers lattice friezes and intricate vents that take you back to the old days of war and the era of kings and rulers.
